I have the urge to write a slash and "DC" on the Kia. Is that OCD?
I think papawhellie wants to discuss the idea of taking the swing out from the Kia and mounting it on the 4Runner.
Meh. Personally I would find a swing out spare a PITA. To have to mess with it every time I want to open the rear wouldn't be fun. The spare carrier on my '89 works fine. It's one of the first things I messed with when I got it. I used a whole can of Liquid Wrench on it. It will carry a bigger 10x31 tire if I ever get around to getting one. When I really think about it I haven't had to change a tire in many years. If you off road and need to carry two spares I could see the need though. You need to get inside the Kia's fender to see what kind of steel is supporting the carrier.
Those RAV4's usually have a hard cover on them that has a dent on it. It was a couple of years before I realized the dent was intended by the factory. That one looks like nothing is holding it up.
