Yeah, that's why you can see so much space for wheels, if I had designed it for 38" it would be much much lower.

This is on the glacier Langjokull. My 5th trip to that area on that vehicle. The tour after this one I rolled it over on my way up...
Lost a steering ball and the car just went off road, took a flip over it self (not to the sides, just straight forward) and ended on the right side. I'm pretty glad me and my girl were quite okay after the incident.

After the rollover.

Here are pictures of when I was "changing" my other 4runner (and also one album after the rollover) I'll put pics soon of the body conversion. (next weekend hopefully)

Wow, the rollover must've really sucked. What do you mean by "lost a steering ball"? A ball joint?

BTW, I love the way the wide tires offer flotation on the snow.

Ya, that's what I meant.
It's not only the widht of them, but also the height that gives the float.

Of course, it's not so much of a problem, I've already changed the engine ones... (A river that was too deep for 32s and alcohol never mixes well together. heh)
And changing bodies is not so much of a problem, just losen everything up, lift the body up with a crane and put the new one on... Maybe two weekends of work.

You have a good point. I don't think many people down here in the states would try that though haha! Good luck on that, and I look forward to more glacier pics! I'm using one of them as the background on my work computer right now haha!

Anywho, fetching the body tonight and start to tear the other one off the car tomorrow, think I'll post a thread to show the work in progress.

Ah well, I suppose there wont be any pics of the progress, as I decided (after checking out the body, and seeing that it was worse than we thought) to tear the ol' red one into parts and the other 'Runner is for sale, hah! (and most likely sold whatsoever)
What a "monday" ....

P.S. what a snow there is in Iceland now, been snowing for three days straight now.
