Chrome wheels

First let me say this is a great forum with very knowledgable people. I,ve been lurking for a few months now and have found a great deal of information on this board! I am currently looking for new wheels for my 03 limited. I have decided to get forged wheels after reading Thai's article. I really don't do much off roading and was wondering how well chrome wheels will hold up to the elements. I am looking to buy Evo Velociti 6 from tirerack.com with either Michelin cross terrains or bf goodrich trails. I live in the northeast, and we get our share of bad weather. I will be using these as my spring, summer, fall, wheels and putting my stock wheels with tires back on in the winter to face the road chemicals. The Evo wheels are warrantying the chrome finish for 5 years and the structure for life. I need opinions from Thai and all others before I make this purchase. This is going to be pretty expensive but should look very nice! Check out tirerack.com if your not familiar with the wheels i'm speaking about. Sorry This is so long. thanks fr03:)

did you get them yet?? they look tight, and they're forged too, $490/wheel is reasonable given they're forged. . .

i think these are it. . .

I like them. I also like the axis 6. They are a lighter wheel. But the fact that they're chrome plated forged, perfect wheel for me!!

Hey fr03, if you do decide to get those rims from tirerack, don't forget that if you buy them after clicking on the little "Tire Rack" banner under the title to this "Performance Zone" sub-forum this site will get a 6% commission - or at least I think it will - haven't actually gotten one yet to see if it works :p A 6% commission on a 2 grand sale would be enough to pay for several months worth of server :)

17's

I'm going with 17's and putting P285-60/17's. According to tirerack these will not rub on a 2003. What do you guy's think.
I'll go with either Pirelli or Kumho.

Will 18's look bling? I don't really want to look like I'm trying to stand out. I just want something nice and different from whats on my limited. I considered the 18's, now you got me wondering!

should be plenty strong enough as long as your not gonna be jumping the truck off anything....there's people up here in NH that roll 20's on up all year round with no problems(not on 4runners though).
