I check Craigslist daily for tires or parts that I can use on my 4Runner. I found a brand new BFG 31x10.50 for a hundred bucks. It's always a good go to source for parts.

Just curious, why would someone keep plates?

1986 toyota 4runner

If the plates aren't dead (expired) and he left them with the buyer, the buyer could run around doing all kinds of bad things that would come back to the PO, because the tags are in his name. Tags don't transfer with the vehicle, the PO has to turn them in to the DMV, and may get a rebate. Or use them on his next vehicle.

Isn't that half the reason why you fill out a bill of sale? How much are new plates? I am tempted to buy this.

I have a ham radio plate for my runner, I wouldn't let someone else running around with my call sign as their plate (which is illegal i'm sure)

In most states you have to turn the plates in to the DMV when you sell the truck.

What do u mean by 'turning in the plates' or 'buying plates'? The plates stay with the vehicle.
At least here they do... I just assumed it was the same nationwide. Well u know what happens u "assume" something!

In NC if you buy a truck from me, I take my plate off the truck I give you a bill of sale and title you go to the DMV and get your own plate. The plates are tied to the owner of the truck and that is how the state/county knows to tax you for property taxes. If I were to not turn it in they will keep charging me property taxes.
