That particular fight has been going on since the second guy that tried to make room for bigger tires.
A suspension lift does raise your COG higher than a body lift of the same amount, but theoretically gives you more suspension travel which some feel makes it worth it. The body lift doesn't do as much damage to your COG, but puts added stresses on the body mounts and doesn't do anything for you in terms of articulation. They've each got their plusses and minuses - my personal opinion is I'd rather not lift the body if I can help it. In your case, you don't need one and wouldn't really gain anything by installing it, so I'd skip it for now.
kind of what I figured. Realistically though, you know I don't hit the trails that often... always have so much to do and not enough time. I don't want to hardcore wheel this one. I'll find myself a topless first gen for that
.There's a few things I wanted to do that the body lift would work for. my sliders for one thing... mount in place and they won't have to be moved again. The 3.4 if I ever get that far will end up turbo or supercharged. I can feel like it has a lift and Im kind of looking forward to a shorter shifter. hah.

Well since Kevin is a rather convincing guy and Moab needs no convincing to go to, I'm working on talking my wife into coming with or just letting me go. I'll play nicely since I'm no 1st gen, I promise......now time to figure me out some sliders before October....

Thanks for the heads up! They are only literally about a mile away from me....time to hope I have some extra cash somewhere after my house payment...feel like welding them on for me for practice?

I am still trying to stop a stupid little coolant leak, but I ordered new parts and some FIPG for that.
I'd love to have sliders and the roll cage done, but that all depends on if I get the new job.
The axle will have to wait a while longer, but it will be on for next years "Classics go to Ouray/Buena Vista" trip.

I hate to "beat a dead horse", but you REALLY need to get that cage taken care of, Bill. With that severed roof, you have zero structural integrity over the passenger compartment if you roll, buddy. Even a simple rollbar for the back half would be better than nothing, until you can scrape together the rest.
I have a little bit of work to do... Just need to fix my engine.
