clayed?

Sorry to ask a dumb question but what is "clayed"? Also some have written that they make their water alkaline before washing their 4runner. Could you also explain this.

My interpretation of "clayed" is using a clay bar to remove surface contaminants making the finish super smooth like glass.

I believe making the water alkaline is for folks who live in an area with hard water. This would remove some of the minerals in the water to prevent water spots. My cousin lives in an area where the water is hard and he has his water softner setup before the garden hose for the car and bypassed for the lawn and garden.
