Cleaning tinted windows

Has anyone used "Invisble Glass" on their tint? Any issues? IG is the best glass cleaner I have ever used but I know some cleaners can make your tint turn a great purple color, so I would like to avoid that!

No ammonia based products. The ammonia can be abrasive and scratch the film. Best recommendation: water or a mild soapy water solution with a microfiber towel.

Thanks Alpha. I actually called the company that makes "invisible glass" and they told me that there is no ammonuia in their product and that it is safe for tint. Anyone who has not used this product must try it! I hate cleaning windows but Invisible Glass is so easy and leaves NO streaks with little effort. It really is amazing, I will never use anything else to clean my windows again.

Lots of foaming glass cleaners work GREAT. I recommend Invisible Glass also.

I've used Stoner's Invisible Glass on my tint for the last year with no problems but I've recently tried a new line of cleaning products by Vroom and it's glass cleaner works very well and is also safe on tint.

I just got the Invisible Glass by Stoners and it was great. No streaks on my cars and great on the tint I just had put in. My friends loved it too. I was also wondering if its okay to use on chrome.

It should work fine.

I've found Plexus Plastic polish works great on chrome, as well as plastic. Headlights, taillights, step bars, etc. It removes all water spots. Available in boating stores.

no mention of vinegar and water? hmmm. best damn glass cleaner I ever used. way cheaper and works great. cuts the grime inside and out. just use a good soft towel on the inside. i use about a 1:15 to 1:20 mix.

Can't stand the smell and it'll be left behind for a little while.

I'm afraid what vinegar would do to interior plastic, leater, dash, etc. Vinegar is acidic.

Don't worry about vinegar hurting your stuff. I use it diluted to clean old leather holsters or knife sheaths with mold, stinky leather seats and just finished cleaning up a leather jacket I loaned to a smoker. Geez, I forgot to get it back and 4 years later it was a real mess. I ended up killing the smell with a 50/50 mix of distilled white vinegar. Just spray on and wipe off. For tough jobs I use a soft brush to work it in before wiping it off.

And NO,,, I don't smell like a pickle! Follow up your treatment with some type of leather conditioner. Vinegar is truly amazing stuff.

I use it on the windows of my house because it's cheap and I have a lot of glass.

Foaming auto glass cleaners are usually great. If you can find a good liquid they can be even better, but hard to come by.....no not Windex lol

I have also been using Water and Vinegar to clean my car windows/ door panels and dash for a very long time with zero ill effects. I usually take a normal windex bottle and fill it with about 1/2 an inch vinegar and the rest with water. The vinegar smell will stick around for a short while, but if you leave your windows cracked for a bit it dissapates quickly.

Where to buy?

Who handles IG? Is it something Walmart handles, or do you have to go to a specialty store? It sounds like it would be worth trying.

I just tried the Meguiar's NXT glass cleaner for the first time today and was pretty happy with it. It cleaned the glass fine and smelled good, so I didn't have to worry about ammonia or vinegar or whatever stinking up the interior. Plus, it's safe for tinted windows... definitely recommended.

Spray away glass cleaner. It works great and is cheap.
