Cleaning Wheel Wells??

So after I spend an hour cleaning my car to perfection, everything looks great...then I look down at my wheel wells and all I see is dull gray and brown caked dirt. (Or maybe I'm just being really OCD) I have taken it to the self serve car wash to pressure wash them, and sprayed them with some simple green and let them soak before spraying them down again. Which has helped, but there still not "clean". What do you guys do, if at all, to clean those wheel wells. Are there any products that are good for restoring/cleaning the plastic parts under there?

Worst case scenario, looks like I will just have to crawl under there with a good hard bristled brush and clean by hand...

That with the Simple Green will do the job. If it still looks dull, just spray it with some rattle can undercoating. It makes a really nice, subtle difference when the wheel wells are clean (All OCD sufferers know this)

I've heard that Meguiar's Hyper Dressing works pretty well.

But I just went the really cheap way and sprayed some undercoating in my wheel wells. I think it came out really nice.

what I do is clean with regular carwash shampoo (inside wheel well). I let air dry, then apply Armor-all (Back to Black, 404 protectant, whatever). After washing your runner several times, you will notice a difference. Dont forget that inside the wheel well is just plastic. My runner looks showroom new everytime I wash her.

do what I did, go to walmart and get some cans of the spray on rubber undercoating. works like a champ and looks great when dry.

Try using "Adam's all purpose cleaner " followed by " Adam's Undercarraige Spray" it will make it look like brand new.

I just use All Purpose Cleaner.

Some guy that was very detailed used a toilet brush to clean the wells.

I'm lazy these days...so I just use my Foam Gun

Citrus degreaser and high pressure spray. Use hot water if it's really soiled. Protecting it is the key. Sonus trim and motor kote works well.

Me too. I use the car shampoo that I use with the body (I had a bad experience with Jeep grand cherokee wheels............they pitted and peeled on me after using chemicals .....simple green....and other products). Anyway, yeah, sometimes the most simplest way is the best way!:thumb3: oh, and I ALWAYS "cleaner wax" my rims.

I use the Adams undercarriage spray and it works great. It's what it's for... the undercarriage and wheel wells.
