I am thinking about going for the all-clear look with front end lights on my 99 Limited. I don't like the amber color of the bumper lights and corner lights. Now I know that I will have to replace the corner lights with clear ones, but what about the bumper lights?
At first I thought that the amber color that shows through the clear lens was just an amber-colored light bulb. My plan was to replace the stock bulb with one of those bulbs that only looks amber when the light is on, and looks kind of silver otherwise. When I removed the bulb i found that it is clear and the amber color comes from a plastic amber "sheath" that is part of the light and surrounds the lightbulb. I hope this is making sense.
Has anyone removed this amber piece from the inside of the bumber light? If so, how was it done? I would rather take that piece out and use some bulbs that light up amber than to buy a whole new clear light housing.
To be specific, when I say "bumber light" I am referring to the turn signal in the front bumber, not the fog light.
Thanks for any response.
