Well I cleared my headlights the other day just getting around to posting it now. Some before during and after pics. I may decide to black them out down the road but I like them how they are now. I am still thinking about getting some 06+ headlights anyways also.

Did you just take the amber reflector out? How long did it take to get them out and apart? I have been considering doing that to paint the bezels with a translucent grey to give it a smoked look.

Good luck if you switch it to the 06 headlights, you'll need to re-wire for the drl's and cut the piece between the bottom of the headlight and top of the bumper so the headlights fit. I've only seen it done decently on 4Runners with after-market bumpers like ARB and Shrockworks

From start to finish it took me about an hour and a half. Wasnt too long. All I did was take the little amber reflector out. I think you can buy the lower piece that goes below the headlight from toyota, have it painted and install the headlights. You have to take those out anyways to remove the headlights, not much to them.

90 minutes? Is that include time for new epoxy to cure?

I didnt even use new epoxy. I had an 06 taco and did the same thing on it and had the nissan headlight epoxy on hand and didnt need it than either. There is so much epoxy that its unneccesary, I just reheated the lights for about 5 minutes at 305 degrees and tightended the screws down.

I think it looks great. What size tires are those? I see 32" in your sig but what is their actual size and what kind are they.

Thanks!

4runnerfourplay,

I have the 2006+ projectors because it came w/ the vehicle, but if I didn't have it, I wouldn't bother getting them.

Because they are expensive, the projection isnt that great & the beam pattern isn't sharp.

I would do a retrofit. I've done a TSX projector retrofit on a Lexus SC300 before.

And I'm sure you want them to look OEM like nothing was done to it...I'm the exact way!!

I included some links for you to check out...

Well actually that stuff in my sig is just stuff on the way, those are Cooper discoverer tires 265/65/R17. I have a lift on the way and when it gets here I bought some 32" BFG MT's off a guy that came stock on his rubicon and will put those on. Thanks for the compliment.

Looks good, but you should've went ahead and blacked the housings out.

Yeah I was kind of torn, I was even asking my wife what she thought would look better showing her pics of either but I figured I could go back and do it whenever, I kinda like the chrome look better.
