My wife and I are heading up to Asheville, NC to Celebrate our 10year anniversary the first week of July. We will also be staying in Cleveland, GA 6/30 & 6/31 to stop in and see family. I'd like to fit in some mountain wheeling time while I'm in the area.
I see Chimney Mountain Road was closed back in March by the forest service due to wet weather (approximated reopen 1-week) but I don't see any updates since then saying if it was in fact reopened, and no recent activity pops up on google search. Anybody know the scoop or interested in showing a FL family around some other areas if Chimney is still closed? I could pass back through the area on our way home 7/6-7/7 if that works better.
