Click noise?

Ok so i was out driving around tonight with the windows down and the radio turned off and just listening to the engine and quietness.. Yes i do this sometime just to relieve myself of everyday stresses.. anyway getting to the point. As I'm driving I'm noticing every time i hit a bump or pot hole i hear a clicking noise from my front left tire. ( drivers side ) now i don;t have to hit a large hole or bump to notice the sound. I'm not sure what it could be.. So i got out and looked under the chassis i didn't see anything out of the ordinary. So just to test if it was my shock i pushed down on the left quarter panel ( I did this multiple times ) I didn't hear anything but once i start driving i hear it... I don't know what it could be.

If you are looking for what kind of distinct sound. I describe it as 2 pieces of metal hitting together. Not a very loud sound but loud enough for the driver to notice.

Please help as much as you can.

I am having the EXACT same problem....don't know what it is and even had my regular mechanic look at it. PLEASE let me know if you find out what yours is; I've done a lot of thinking and maybe it's a motor mount / tranny mount?

Check the front undercarrige guard. There is 3 bolts along the front that have atendancy to come lose. I just checked mine yesterdat and 2 out of the 3 were loose alowing the skid plate to bounce off of the top rail.

I looked under the chassis and checked the skid plate. It was fine nothing wrong with it also checked everything else around it. I still cant find it....

Anyone have any other ideas its annoying the hell outta me... And i still cant find the problem.. i was under the thing for 2 damn hours today..

Check your exhaust hangers and brackets, they like to rust their way loose. Also check the brake lines. I have had them create an annoying rattle before. My experience with rattles and such has been to NEVER assume you know where it is coming from and you can gain more ground by spending more time trying to duplicate the sound rather than looking for the cause.

The first time my mechanic looked at it he found two bolts had come loose from the guard but welded more on and it's tight now and that didn't fix it. My exhaust looks pretty rusty now that you mention it so I'll check that out.

Unfortunately the only way to duplicate the noise has been while driving (just find a bumpy street) and we can't duplicate it on the rack or while looking under it.....

Left front? If its the left front you may be describing a sway bar link.

If thats your noise, you can duplicate it by rocking the truck side to side. It may take some help to do that.
