Climate Control Panel Help

So on my 04, the climate control panel has a big black spot in the middle of the screen. When it is illuminated at night you can see there are small cracks where the orange background light can be seen through. Nothing can be seen on the screen at all.

When I looked online to see how to fix these I found a page showing how to fix the digital screen on a home phone by simply holding a heat gun over the ribbon and using a pencil eraser on it and it somehow fixes the ribbon.

Does anyone know of any solutions to fix this.

Or a place to by another one? I found one on ebay for 135 and that is simply too much for something I can easily live without

Looks and sounds like for whatever reason that the LCD screen is cracked, I haven't ever heard of a way to repair them when they get like that.

Sorry bud. Looks like you're going to have to purchase a replacement, if the digital data is important to you. There really is no feasible way to "repair" that.
