Clock and CD player quit working!

I have a 1998 Toyota 4runner SR5 and just the other day the in dash clock quit and then the CD player quit but the radio and tape deck still work. I figure these are just lose wires. I assume the pull out cup holder had some thing to do with this. Has anyone else had this happen and how hard is it to fix?

sounds odd to me the clock and the cd head unit are different wires and the cd head unit is just that a unit , you have one plug coming from the back of that for everything radio/cd/tape (besides power and annt. connections)

sounds like a bad light in the clock and a bad lense in the cd player, i don;t think playing with wires will help, but that's part of troubleshooting is playing with stuff trying to figure things out, so by all means take the dash apart and fiddle with the wires and check for loose connection just be ready with the cash for a new headunit and a clock (or at least the bulb for it)

also wait for others to chime in this is just my inkling on this ;-)

If he has the two piece unit were the CD player is seperate from the radio then it might just be a fuse. I would try looking at the fuse block first and seeing if there is one burnt out first before ripping the dash apart. Sometimes it really is the easy answer.

If it went out, Subaru Clocks will repair it for you for like $40 I think? Google Subaru Clocks and you should find their site
