Clock is dead and don't really need a clock. What can go in place?

I wish it was a very small screen and I could play super Mario brothers 3 on it, while driving because I can multi-task, and also drink a latte, and talk on the phone to the people I'm playing mobile fortnight with as a 4 person squad.
no seriously though I love that stupid little clock.

Haha, now you’ve got me picturing having a screen right there that plays mario jumping over blocks and such.

Engine Temperature read-outs are for paranoids. Why would I want to constantly be reminded when simple maintenance will tell you if you should be worried or not...
If it were me, I'd install either a digital/analog compass for direction, or an outside temperature read-out like what most modern cars have. I know the 2002 model year has a temperature probe mounted behind the grill since it displays outside temp on the climate control unit. Older years don't have this.
For a compass, maybe something like this would be a direct fit. Of course you'd need to find something that could be mounted vertically.

I tired the clock fix and it worked for a bit(hours) then shut off. Like "the terminator" when submerged in molten metal.

Both of my 99 Limited's display the outside temp.
I agree with the above posts, keep the clock for the cool factor, dont be a quitter.

My clocks been dead since I've owned my rig. I revived it once and it died again. It can stay dead. If that makes my rig not cool, so be it. lol
