Clock Issue

About 2 weeks ago I noticed my clock was slow by about 20 minutes. Thought it a possible fluke and reset it. Today I noticed it was slow again by about 25 minutes. Ran fine for the 2 weeks in-between. At a loss as to why. Would think this is controlled by a chip somewhere and not something that would generally just slow down. Can't say if it took a big leap or just slowed down gradually. Anyone else experience anything like this?

Is your flux capacitor up to speed on banana peels and coffee grounds?

Sorry, had to go there. I really have no clue. :hiding:

It's ok was kind of expecting a bit of that. ;)
In googling this I found lots of unhappy toyota campers with clock issues of varying degree. Nothing like this tho:confused:

I've heard of this happening after electrical modifications. Clock probably isn't quartz is voltage or frequency can affect it I bet.

I've heard of similar problems on other vehicles when your battery is starting to get weak or dying. Just a thought....don't know too much about the 4Runner yet.

how do you know your other clocks aren't fast? :behindsofa:

Ha, Ha, actually was first thing I checked. Interestingly tho my 04' Tacoma had one of the digital segments burnt out on the display so it was really hard to read. Had that replaced by the dealer, but I don't know what it is with me and Toyota clocks.:dammit:I'm going to make a point of being more observant of it and check it for accuracy every time I get in. I'm now curious to see if it is a gradual change or a sudden jump. Maybe a gremlin. Or, worse its the ghost of my latest ex(:witch:) buried under the garage floor.

^I considered this but I just have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of something like a clock which takes almost zero juice to keep time, being affected when everything else that takes much more power is working fine. It would actually be kind of slick tho if something this mundane could be a trigger signal that its time for a new battery before I get stuck somewhere. Thanks
