So I don't know a lot about mechanics but I do know a thing or two about human physiology... Having that long of a snorkel would be a lot of "dead space." Is that an issue having such a long intake mechanically speaking or is it not a big deal because the air is only going one way? Sorry to grace this forum with nerd talk

Build from the heart that's what I always do.

Still need to come up with an inline air filter or something that will fit under the truck before the turbo, these are cool but expensive.

What if you just got a sport hood and made it functional? somehow made it so that the hood scoop fed air into the airbox.. Its not much higher but I have only had a few times that water was actually over my hood and thats cuz I was trying to get it over my hood... lol

Because there isn't an airbox and the air intake is at the back of the truck.

That would do it.. You might could look at running it out to the drivers side under the bumper and into the cab via the cab vent..

I think a turbo intake in the cab would be extremely loud.

Maybe... Like a small vacum.. lol. I'm sure there is a way to silence it without restricting it. That's all the ideas I got lol... carry on...

Drilling a 3.5" hole somewhere in my truck...

Don't you think you should drill through something that is replaceable?
Like when you install a normal snorkel, you drill through a fender. I can get a new fender easy. If you drill a hole through the roof, your screwed.

Yes I do, and that's the plan, just won't be a fender.

If only you could bare the noise it would make during full spool. Id say mounting it in the truck would be clean.
