Clownmeat's build thread

OK, off topic CM but I keep looking at your dang roof rack. Can you tell be what brand and Model. Thanks and am absolutely jealous. Wonder what that would to on the 4.0

It's a Yakima rack, don't know the model. Took it off a Leer camper shell I paid $50 for, was on a full size ford truck.

couple questions, where are you getting your oil feed from? and did you end up using the safc? or how are you utilizing bigger injectors? which injectors did you go with? and which plugs? thanks

Oil feed is coming from the port right next to the oil pressure sending unit.
Did not need to use the SAFC.
Stock injectors.
NGK BKR7E (4644) plugs.

what are you afr's? out of boost? and in boost? the factory ecu calculates enough fuel for the 7 psi? hows driveability? do you have a restrictor off the block going to your turbo? if so what size?

14.5, 12.5, I would like to see 11.5 though, yes it does, driveability is  plus :wow2: plus :D, restrict all my turbos to around .080 or they will start smoking.

11.5 would be good, what if you plumbed in a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator. Or do you feel the injectors are maxing out around 12.5? ever checked the duty cycle?

I never checked to see if they were at full duty, if I mess with it more it's getting meth/water injection and more boost.

Did a 4hi 7psi brake stand/launch, stuff went flying.

Interesting setup.

As it runs on bigger fuel pumps and different plugs, it does not run correctly. Put it on a dyno dynamics and see how its all over the place.

Your cheapest setup would be an AEM FI/C... There's probably not a plug and play harness for it but it works for up to 400hp cars. There's a company called Boomslang that makes custom harnesses for unusual cars and if you were interested I'd contact them.

I have a bit of a background in the aftermarket world and tuning :)

Enjoy your turbo.

All i can say is HUH, How many fuel pumps do you think he has. he is just running the stock pump. the TRD supercharger runs 7psi just fine so why wouldnt the turbo charger?:ybrick:

Supercharger Instruction FAQ’s

1. Would it be a good idea to install a fuel
pressure regulator along with the supercharger?

No. After extensive testing, TRD has learned that the fuel system
has sufficient capacity to deliver the additional fuel to match the
additional air induced by the supercharger.

This is the first thing they address in the installation manual. Maybe not in every case TRD is right but in MY situation it works, for now.

very true! all i want is that 11.5 afr, because my engine is far from brand new at 318000 kms. haha do you remember where you got the oil restrictor for off the block? want to make this a one weekend type project so i'm looking to get everything in order first!

I use restricted oil feed flanges, cheaper, easier and one piece.

It's a lot to do in one weekend, hope everything goes smooth, would like to see your setup when you get it done.

Great engineering here man. I have always wanted to take a turbo molecular pump from work and make a turbo system for a vehicle. If i can pump down a chamber the size of a fridge to the high vac ranges in less than 8 min. What would that insane amount of pull do for a engine. Hmm...
