Clunk from rear and swaying

Broken shock ... D.s. completely broken off the frame . Shock sideways and the top of it is still in the perch .. Are these shocks hard to swap? Looks like its gonna be .

How do I post pics ? It the rear shock d.s. it's still attached on both ends just broken at the bottom of the upper mount . This can't be common. I know it's rusty but danggg

You can use photobucket or some other online hosting site for adding pics or when you are posting at the bottom there's a manage attachments button (or something along those lines) that you can add photos with. They have to be small size though.

So the shock broke in the middle then. It happens. If there's enough of the top portion to grab onto you can bend it back and forth until the top stud breaks off. Otherwise you'll have to grab it with vise grips or something and get a socket up there to undo the nut on the stud. Maybe you can use a sawzall to cut it off too if it won't bend back and forth.

broken at the bottom of the upper mount? sounds like its done the hard part for you!! most of the time when changing the shocks they break around there and make the process much quicker than removing the top nut. grab some shocks and hope your other one comes out as easily:rockon:

Shouldn't be too hard to get off if that's where it broke (pics would really help). Once the old shocks are out, new ones are pretty simple to put in. Only annoying part is reaching around the top of the shock to tighten the nut. I'd use threadlocker. I just noticed yesterday that the nut came off and my shock was swinging around.
