clunky front end

87 22re, every little bump i hear this clunk coming from passenger side front. actually varies in loudness according to size of bump. my buddy told me it feels like it's directly under his feet when he's in the passenger seat.

checked underneath and all bushings and so forth look ok. even had him bounce up and down on the front end and still couldn't see anything. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does it happen at any wheel position?

If it only happens with the wheels turned hard, check the rubber bumper on the steering stop.

The plastic covers on the steering stops are probably long gone on an 87,and it usually results in a squeak.

I'd check 2 things, the bushings on the sway bar and the sway bar links, and the CV joint.

yeah, pretty much does it in any wheel position, straight or turning.

checked the sway bar bushings, replacing them this weekend. will let you know.
