Well i just bought a 96 4 runner with 140k on it. Original clutch. Anyway I was driving today and I hit alot of traffic so I was driving with the clutch pedal pressed in all the way and it normally engages near the top but this time it engaged completely on the floor and its been spongy almost no feel at all since. Since then it now sinks to the floor when i press it slowly. When I press it fast it will move the slave cylinder but when I press it slow or normal it doesn't move the slave cylinder and the fluid in the master cylinder rises up. I bled the system and it didn't change anything. I thinking its the master cylinder? Does anyone have and suggestions? ideas?

I agree with doing them both. I replaced my slave cylinder last week, doing the clutch master tomorrow.

Also, look at the clutch pedal washer where the pedal meets the return spring. That can wear out and be gone, if so the spring will cut into the pedal and the pedal will stay down.
