Clutch issues when crawling. Question?

So heres the deal I have a newer clutch in my truck. It was from trail gear and is an aisin or whatever OEm brand.

THe deal is a few nights ago I was running claw hammer and my clutch got a little warm... I kept having an issue where i would start letting off the clutch and pushing the gas and the clutch would stay down as I pushed the gas and just slip. Its like it wouldnt dis-engage. I have had this issue before with clutches

I did some thinking and im assuming the pressure plate is just not strong enough. The clutch seems fine otherwise. Plus once I got it to fully dis engage the clutch in gear it was fine and wouldnt slip at all.

Keep in mind im going up some huge rocks when this happened. Super frustrating. It just wouldnt get going. It also puked a bunch of smoke out, Obviously it was super hot.

So the question is does the pressure plate sound like the issue. The current clutch has about 9 months on it and about 4K miles. And I put a brand new flywheel in at that time.

If so Ill just get a new clutch kit from marlin crawler that supposedly has a 33% increase on the pressure plate from 800 lbs to 1200 lbs.

Any Ideas. I want to stay away from ceramic clutches because i need some slip on the engagement for crawling.

Could this be a slave cyl. or clutch master cyl going out? I have searched and found some info from people racing cars and they say dumping the clutch and the pedal not coming up had something to do with a slave cylinder issue.

To me the hydraulics should only effect the clutch when depressing the pedal. Maybe Im mistaken.

This truck is old. has 243K miles. the last 30K or so has been mainly wheeling trips. Maybe the hyro clutch system is taking a dump

When I first got my 4runner the pedal would get stuck down when I was wheeling and drove me nuts for a while. I finally found that I could pull the pedal up with my foot, so the pedal's ability to return was at fault. I replaced the spring on the clutch pedal so the pedal returns and haven't had any problems since.

The pedal returns fine all the time. And as i let off the gas, the clutch pedal would come back up then the clutch would quit slipping.

Good idea Ill keep it in mind. Could be an issue. Im lost at this point
