Clutch Issues

Hey guys, I have just come into posession of a 1990 4Runner with the 3L and a 5sp.

The clutch is unresponsive and gives no resistance when you push it. In order to shift into first/reverse I have to turn off the vehicle.

I checked the clutch master cylinder and it's full. You think the slave cylinder is pooched? Or the throw out bearing is gone?

Pls help this is my first manual vehicle I can't diagnose shit.

you have just came into posession of it, which means it could be anything...
so 1st you need to check all lines, fittings, and master/slave for any sign of leaks.
no leaks? then you need to check the clutch pedal assembly inside the truck. look for cracks and proper movement.
if thats all good then you need to bleed your hydraulic clutch system. you can search forums for instructions.
if you dont want to do it yourself a shop would probably charge you an hour for doing this.,

I got underneath and had my bro pump the pedal. The slave moves, but not very much. I bled it, twice, and it didn't move any more. Both the master and the slave were free of leaks, and the system has held the same amount of fluid for the past few months (apparently. I work with the owner and I trust what he says).

When my slave cylider went on my pathfinder the clutch foot pedal stuck to the floor. I f you have fluid in the master and there are no leaks, sounds bad (pressure plate)
