clutch problem, need help

so i finally changed the clutch kit and mechanic told me the clutch slave cylinder (bottom) might need to change as well. truck has 228xxx miles and runs great with no problems! i did manage to change the slave cylinder myself, watched a few vidoes on youtube and it was fairly easy. now, im still having problem to put the truck in gear (5 speed by the way). need to pump clutch pedal many many times in order to get it in gear...frustrating.

i heard about the clutch master cylinder. do i need to change that as well?
i found no leaks both inside engine bay and underneath clutch pedal (inside) so i assumed it was working fine.

any adv will be appreciated. thanks!

I'm having trouble getting into 1st gear. When I pull the clutch pedal up with my foot it goes in easily. I already ordered the master cylinder from Camelback & will install it next week.

I had this problem when I got my truck. It also had a new clutch. Look at the pedal assembly and find the part where the master cylinder attaches to the clutch pedal. Undo the pin and unscrew the adjuster thingy. (I don't know what it is actually called). Then put it back on the pedal and it should work. If it doesn't, then you might have some air in the hydraulic lines.

Did you bleed the line? Hydraulic clutch is essentially = breaks. It needs to be bled if you did any work to the lines or the cylinders.

the master cylinder is basically a piston pressurizing the whole hydraulic clutch assembly. Look at the attachment rod that goes onto the pedal, sometimes the bushing can break (OEM is plastic) and cause the rod to not move when the pedal is pressed. If this part is fine, the master cylinder line runs directly to the slave cylinder where the bleeder valve is located. get a buddy to press and hold the pedal in and crack the valve to check for air.

thanks for the help guys! i will change the master cylinder this wknd.
when i changed the clutch slave, i did bleed it pretty good. maybe i need to bleed it more and see if that cures the problem.
