Clutch smoke?

So today when i was gettin on to the highway on a sketchy on ramp I pushed the ect button & turned overdrive off. I was going about 20 before the ramp and after 60mph. It was at a slight incline but I didnt mash the pedal I only took it to about 3.5K rpm's and once I was on the high way I smelled what I believe was clutch smoke through my ac. My 4runner is an automatic so this was unexpected. Should I be worried about this? Are parts broke, failing, or about to break? Ack >.<

Check your trani fluid. If its burned replace it and if you don't know how have a trusted shop do it not a jiffy lube or something. When was the last time you replaced your trani fluid?
