Seems like the code 52 is somewhat of a pain in the A** I have a 93 4Runner 3.0 4WD 5SPD obviously a problem with my knock sensor.... So code 52 replaced knock sensor and pigtail. (removed intake) and replace like im supposed to. unfortunately my code 52 comes right back along with a lag in power and what ever else comes with a malfunctioning knock sensor. So back to the drawing board I decided to run an overlay harness from the knock sensor connector cutting out the connector and running 2 separate wires one to a ground at the ecu and the other to the pin in the ecu obviously the ground wire to ground at ecu and the info wire straight to the ecu eliminating the factory harness. ensure codes are clear start vehicle and no change code 52 comes back after driving for about 30 sec. After that I figured no possibilities left except the ecu, I purchase a known good ecu but have the exact same results. I am unsure how to proceed with fixing my 4Runner any help would be great. P.S. I have been an auto tech for about 15yrs. This makes no sense to me.
