Code P0770 Shift Solenoid E

Hey all I'm looking at a 2001 2wd with really low miles. The problem is it's showing the trans code P0770 Shift Solenoid E. Couple of questions:

Is this expensive to fix

Is it indicative of bigger problems

Trying to decide if it's worth it, the rest of the truck is in excellent condition.

Well how does it drive? Shift 3 times from 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4?

I have an 01 4wd w/312k miles on original engine/trans.

It threw a 770 about 5 years ago, once. cleared the code and it never returned.

I do change trans fluid regularly (30k or so) and use a magnefine filter.

If you're a DIY, a solendoid replacement is EZ and not very costly on parts.

Again, how does it drive? Could be a fluke code like mine.

Thanks, it actually shifts well. The truck is pretty well priced and even if it cost me 1k the price would be fair.

If it shifts good and firm and it otherwise OK (rust, pink milkshake) the it's a good gamble. To me driving them tells most of the story.

I had that code come up shortly after my pink milkshake issue. I cleared it, and it never came back. Then I replaced the transmission so I can't tell you if would have stayed away or not.
