Codes c1201 and p0300

Went to start my 2002 runner (173k) miles and it turned over but engine was "chugging" and very low rpms for a cold start (around 500rpm). Chugged for 30seconds and picked up to normal rpms, then engine light came on with trac and vsc lights. Ran to autozone to read the codes, got c1201 and p0300. c1201 said something wrong with the computer, and p0300 said random multiple misfire... Looking into it, seems like the problem could be anything from spark plugs to fuel injectors. Currently a college student living in an aprtment, so not a whole lot of money available to throw parts at, or tools laying around. Anybody help me with this with?

start with removing your battery cables and clean the posts and cables. check all your ground points, (see pdf) nothing lose or extremely corroded...it's imperative that you have 12v with the engine not running and 13-14v with engine running...

Did you every find out the issue? My 02 just came up with the same codes and started missing when under load at highway speeds. Also had a very low idle at start up then goes back to normal after a while.

What's the service history? I mean if you know plugs/wires were replaced in last 3-4 yrs, they're probably OK. Could be a dirty MAF or IAC too. Pull some of the spark plugs and have a look at them, they can tell a lot and only costs time. Let us know what you find. :cowboy:
