Coil over opinions

Hows it going all? I'm new to the forum. I just want to hear some opinions on different "complete kit" coilover set ups. I have checked out Toytec complete kits and the top three are the boss kit for around $1300 another that I can't remember I think is super flex...not sure and another that is bilstein 5100 set up that costs $909. What's the difference between these? What have you ran? My plan is to gain articulation. 3/2 lift. I want 285's for the clearance but figure 275's will be better all around, considering wheel travel and mpg's. I definatly work more than I play but when we get out we get way out. This means 45 miles freeway each day for work then a good 100/200 one way to get to a good fly fishin hole. Once offroad in A.Z. trails get rugged before they turn to washes and canyons and my stock 04 t4r v6 sr5 can't decide if it wants to be on two wheels or three half the time...lol.

I've been running Radflos for a few years now. I've been pretty happy. Up front I have the 2.0" shock body coil over. Just recently upgraded my Radflo 2.0" rear set up to a 2.5" shock body long travel, also with another Radflo shocks combo. Both of which are internal floating pistons. I like having the adjustability and the larger shocks in the rear. I'll soon upgrade to the 2.5" up front. In all, I've been pleased with this set up. You may also want to consider looking into upper control arms. It'll help with alignment. That's all I can add. Good luck!

Everyone has their preferences and what they find important (translation: recommending whatever is on their vehicle ... Usually.)

I don't think the Toytec coilovers are bad by any means (especially the Boss kit). However, if you are willing to put a bit more money in, you can get a nice set of Fox, King, Icon, Radflo, etc., which allow you to rebuild / re-valve as needed. Also, you tend to end up with a 2.5 shock body.

Either way you go, I'll echo what cbiat mentioned - get better UCAs. From personal experience, I believe aftermarket UCAs make a BIG difference.

how mush does it cost to rebuild them? if i get the toytecs and the shocks go out its just another 120$ bilstien right?

What's more true about it? The boss, ultimate and unnamed $909.00 mystery kit all claim to be 0-3" adjustable. How often do icon, king etc. need rebuilt vs Toytec needing replaced? Please keep in mind I don't like tinkering much I want to load up and go, come home and go back to work. The boss kit is just under 2000 including TC uca's. Does icon make a comple 3/2 coil over lift kit for the fourth gens?

I've got the stage 1, Very nice ride on and off road.

Rebuild is really related to how much you work them off road. If you really do a lot of offroading and especially racing or going fast over terrain for long distances (Getting them really hot). Then likely once a year or sooner if they leak due to dust incursion.

For street only it would be "when they start to leak" or if you notice them just not working as well which could be /years/.

I have yet to rebuild mine, I offroad... occasionally? Once a month in the winter, less in the summer. But my icons are only like 3 months old now...
