Coil Testing - Guidance sought

Guidance for a how to on secondary coil test procedure
I have the primary test done and they are fine
For secondary test I cannot get a value

Working on this issue:
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-g...-seemingly-after-loose-plug-wire-cyl-4-a.html

For the secondary test you should be checking the resistance between the spark plug wire input on top of the coil and the contact in the tip of the coil that connects to the actual spark plug. Resistance between these two points should be between 9.3 and 16.0 ohms on a cold coil.
If you're not getting that resistance, it's time to replace. I'd recommend checking all three to make sure it's the coil that's bad and not your checking method. If you're getting a proper reading on 2 but not the third, that's your problem.

I ran into the same issue when trying to test the secondaries on mine . I am following the FSM testing procedures, and the primary resistance was within spec . When testing resistance on the secondary The resistance value seems to just jump up and down I can't get a solid reading . I have not yet found a way to test these

Results
-2 of the coils were solid and within a few hundredths of each other at ~12.75.
-The remaining coil was like a free ranging chicken with dynamic values all over the place.
-I tested with 3 different meters same result on all ...from throw away to Fluke.
-I have ordered 1 coil and it should be here this evening.

It is all back together
Also cleaned throttle body and MAF
Plugs and wires also replaced
Works great and can even lug the engine now

Many thanks to all of you

So the ones where you were unable to measure the resistance, I.e. where the resistance was jumping all over the place, those were bad???

Yes the jumper coil was the replaced and all was well
A proper coil stays locked on a value

Sorry for the delayed response

Sorry to jump in
All (3) coils are well above the chart range on a primary. I can not get any readings on secondary. Is it possible that all of them went bad at the same time? All I did is just started the truck, pulled in dipper in my driveway (5ft) and the vehicle would never start since then.

Before you ditch them, take the boot off the coil and test the coil only. That'd be a very unfortunate coincidence for all of them to fail at once.

That idea was on a back of my burner as well )
I'll wait till my new multitester arrives and will give it a shot again then.
