Coilovers or ??

Hey everyone im getting ready to throw a bunch of cash at my runner. I have an 87 4runner that I have been building for a while now. Its my daily driver for the most part, as in it takes me to work and back on a straight highway with only 2 turns lol. But being an IFS setup I had wanted more so i installed a Blazeland long travel system in the front and the All Pro rear lift kit in the rear about 3 years ago. The Blazeland kit has held up and worked great the whole time and I will be using it on another 87 I have thats another project. So Nate, great job on that setup, its been a great time on the rocks.

But now i am swapping that out and swapping in a solid axle. I do mainly all rock crawling and trail riding. I usually stay out of the mud and never see the dunes so im curious on the pros and cons of 2 things.

1. Do i do a 3 link setup or leaf springs for the front? Will a link setup take away it being my work transport?

2. Do i go for coilovers or standard shocks? Why?

Those are my main questions, i just want this thing to be super flexy and still be able to get me the 5 miles to work on the highway.

If you decide to not use that blazeland PM me? Been drooling over those for a while and as cheap as they are I dont have the money for one these days with a second kid on the way. Found a wrecked 1st gen in a junkyard that looked like it had a combination of rancho parts and some kind of LT arms. But the front end was totaled and twisted so i didnt even want to touch the control arms.

If i decide to go another direction with the other runner then i will put you at the top for them. It worked great for everything i used em for so they worth it.

TG makes a link kit, thats pretty complete and straight forward. Takes the guess work out of it.

Ruffstuff (many other companies too) makes a more universal kit, but youll have to set up your own link geometry.

Leafs are simple and durable.. and can be done for cheap.

If done right, I would say links are more streetable than leafs..

Ok links it is then.

Getting the 3 link setup with coil over shocks and ARB lockers F/R. Then hopefully shortly after that will be getting dual cases.

Thanks for the advise :)
