Maybe we all meet there then caravan to the trailhead.

Yes, there are 4 cemeteries there. The big lot is just to the left (there may be some big gravel piles, the parking lot is just past them).

Just joined the site, going out of town for this one but count me in next time! I'm probably going to be bare bones stock and a PITA to you pros, but I promise to have a CB after reading Gerdo's remarks.

Ladies and Gentlemen of T4R.org or any other website, I invite you once again, again to a day of sightseeing, trail driving/riding, and overall good times. This event will take place in Colorado. This gathering of beautiful 4Runners and other off road vehicles will be open to anyone of any skill of driving. We will hopefully be driving and cooking over an open fire while on the trip.

Ah, yankee hill... my old nemesis. (That first hill was pretty snow-covered last time I was there, and my old crap tires couldn't keep traction.)

Camp Fire is the name of the game. For those who dont need utensils Ill bring tin foil.

Gerdo- Since you have done this before and your knowledge is far greater than mine, do you think chains will be required? I normally bash right through snow with my BFG AT's, but I can get chains if it is a good idea.

If the snow is deep, chains are awesome. I have no idea what the trail/snow conditions are. Chains will give an unfair advantage. I'll bring mine and will break trail if needed. The area around Idaho Springs doesn't look like it has a lot of snow so we may be good.

I am in, and will possibly be bringing a friend with a stock Rubicon. I have a CB, and chains (never needed to use them, but am also willing to break trail if need be...)

Any ideas on how long of a trail this is?? As it were, St. Patty's Day plans are flowing...and I will be ready for a green beer!!!

Installed my CB yesterday. Just ordered my duratracs today. I'm a definite yes if I get the duratracs installed by Saturday.
I'm thinking of making a weekend out of it. Does anyone up there know if columbine campground is open for tent camping? If it isn't, are there any campgrounds open?
