Stay the trail will be managing a habitat restoration work event Saturday 27th at Slaughter House Gulch.

Meet at the gas station on HWY 285 (before Bailey coming from Denver) at 9:00 head to the trail at 9:15.

What: Habitat restoration -Install fencing to block off non-designated bog area & plant native seed.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o> </o>
Where: Slaughter House Gulch trail system, near Bailey, CO<o> </o>
When: September 27<SUP>th</SUP>, National Public Lands Day – 9am-project completion (no later than 4pm).<o> </o>
September 27<SUP>th</SUP> is National Public Lands Day. Stay The Trail will be partnering with the South Platte Ranger District to install ~150’ of post and cable fence to block off a non-designated bog area on the popular Slaughter House Gulch Trail near Bailey, CO. With the consistent moisture this season this area has worsened and users are treating it as a mud-bog. In addition to fence construction, we will be spreading native grass seed in the damaged area.<o> </o>
We will need 15-20 volunteers for this project. Work includes:<o></o>
Installing metal posts, Running metal cable and Spreading native grass seed<o></o>
Water, snacks and tools will be provided. Please bring a lunch, work gloves, proper footwear and clothing.<o></o>
