Colorado - Trail ideas/openings

A trip I was planning unfortunately fell through, but I still want to take the time off from work to do something fun.

Anyway, I have September 27th through October 5th off and any adventures or camping out times would be great. Any recommendations for long trails or adventures (that are relatively easy, I have a mild lift and Budbuilt plates, but I might be alone) are definitely welcome, as the world of offroading is new to me as of this year. I was originally planning on Moab, but I've never been - how would it be alone? Warmer than most of the Colorado mountains around this time I would guess.

I'm in Denver - if anybody has trips planned they'd like to take a newbie on, let me know!

Sorry to hear that trip has totally died. When the dates changed I filled all the free time I had with other junk, otherwise I would be happy to show you around Moab or Western CO.

Here is a good way to start a camping trip:
September 27<SUP>th</SUP> is National Public Lands Day. Stay The Trail will be partnering with the South Platte Ranger District to install ~150’ of post and cable fence to block off a non-designated bog area on the popular Slaughter House Gulch Trail near Bailey, CO. With the consistent moisture this season this area has worsened and users are treating it as a mud-bog. In addition to fence construction, we will be spreading native grass seed in the damaged area.

Do the alpine loop in the San juans. Pretty easy, and some absolutely amazing scenery/ history... Ghost towns etc... I recomend, engineer pass to cinnamon pass, then Ophir pass to telluride... Camp at alta lakes... Stunning. Easy enough trails, but will keep you interested. Plenty of people will drive by if u get stuck. Pm me if you have any questions.

Im planning a road trip for a few week. maybe 3.
I live in Madison wisconsin and planing to go strait to Colorado and do some parts of wyoming and utah.
Im also a newbie
I would love to join and have people to travel with.

No worries, life happens. I just still want to take the time off from work is all, and figure I might as well get in what will probably be a last camping hurrah before it gets too chilly.
