Nobody in the hard hit areas could comment since they don't have time, maybe no electricity and maybe no house left. I'm south of the Bouler to Estes Park area in Aurora. We got about 12" on Friday, 5.5" yesterday and it just started dumping a few minutes ago. I'm not complaining because even though myself and everyone around me took in some water we still have our homes.
My break time is over, heading back to my formerly finished basement to continue pulling up carpet and getting the wet vac running to keep ahead of today's rain.
To everyone high and dry send prayers, good thoughts, karma, whatever works for you, to the people who are in the hard hit areas that have lost so much already.

This storm is crazy and CXS is right, people affected won't have time or care to check the forum. This is the most rain I've seen since I have lived in CO, been here for 10yrs.
I actually live north of Fort Collins and haven't had any issues, but i'm on high ground. Just drove from West Denver home today and it was eye opening. Loveland, Firestone, Boulder and now Fort Morgan and more towns farther east are in bad shape. Evans and LaSalle are under "no flush, no shower" restrictions cause they lost the water treatment plant. Excel energy has estimated 2000 people in Windsor without power. Estes Park and Big Thompson area I feel are the hardest hit, they will need the most help.

Thanks Mike, like I said, this is a only a nuisance for us. There are reports of 100's unaccounted for but they, like your friend, probably don't have cell service or are trying to salvage their own stuff or helping others. The only good thing about this mess is seeing how the people pull together and help each other. Unfortunately that attitude fades after things settle down.

Good to hear Chris , we had a good 3 wks here but being in a valley , we had just certain sides of town that got hammered . After the big fire on Mt Charleston small town up there just had the same happen up there & as you know sh*t rolls down hill ! Hope all goes well up there .

My family is in Boulder County. Luckily they live on top of a mountain so aren't getting the flooding. From what I understand the town near them, Nederland, is pretty cut off from everything since it's above Boulder Canyon. They said they filled everything with gas and haven't had any for 3 days. I think they have power though, but I don't think any supplies are making it in. It's an evacuation point for it sounds like most of the surrounding areas. My work office and most of the people I know are in Boulder, hopefully they are doing well.
EDIT: My dad just texted me saying the rumor is Boulder Canyon will take a month to reopen.

I just made it out of Lyons. The town was severely damaged, we had to evacuate to higher ground. After 48 hours we were able to drive out of the only road in our high clearance vehicles. Sad time seeing such a great town destroyed.
