A few questions.

What are the differences between the late 2-different 1999 and the 3-different 2000 and the 2-different2001-02 Guage clusters. Is the odometer milage stored in the cluster or the computer?

How do I I.D. my cluster and how do I I.D. a potential replacement?

Any leads on a good repair place for a repair? My circuit board on the back is burnt.

Basically the differences and criteria for replacements are auto vs manual transmission and non vs multimode transfer case. If you can match those, you will be good to go. Mileage is stored in the gauge cluster itself, so you will need to find a like mileage unit, or the legal proper way is to file a mileage change report with the DMV if you get something super different.

Well, forget anything '01-'02 for your '99. VSC/TRAC caused some major rewiring and you would go nuts trying to adapt, if it were possible.

I see one MY 1999 6 cyl auto US cluster. The other one is Canada Spec. You like metric?

I'm thinking 2000 is probably different due to the DRL introduction. Some of the brain of the headlight system is in the CM and probably not compatible. I think you had better stick to 1999 6 cyl auto US spec donor. I don't see any internal difference with multi-mode vs. not; the wiring differences appear to be external to the CM according to my 1999 EWD.. The 4 cyl is definitely a different p/n.

I think it was multimodes that got that weird 4wd indicator type thing in the top center - whatever the graphic is that shows all 4 wheels

I have an '01 and have teh 4x4 indicator with center lock indicator that top of my gauge panel.
