Compatibility question

I have a '95 4R, 3.0 V6 SR5. It needs a little love - parts like a rear bumper and a fuel tank, which leaks only when full.

My question is this: rather than buy the parts online or worse, having a shop do the work, I'm looking to go the Copart route. I need to know which years are compatible with my '95. I know the '95 is part of the second generation ('90-'95), but does that mean any 4R from those years has identical parts to mine? Also, would a '96 or '97 also work for me in terms of bumpers and fuel tanks? What about transmissions? It'd be nice to have one of those lying around should I ever need it.

stick with the 90-95 year range it will be easier to find parts. That is the year range for 2nd gens. You may find somethings that are the same but cant guarantee it.

You could also look at pickups from 90-95. They share many similar parts you might need/want

Hadn't thought of that, thanks for the tip. Like a fuel tank and bumpers? Those are the main things I'm looking for right now.

you would need to double check the rear bumper.
I believe there would be a clearance issue using a 3rd gen truck bumper on the back of a 2nd gen 4Runner, the truck bumper would be too high to clear the tail gate when open.
