Complete Audio Upgrade - 2008 4Runner V8 Sport -- Please help!

I am VERY new to this forum, and new to the 4Runner world.

I just picked up a 2008 4Runner Sport Edition with 56K. I hope I dont get bashed too hard for this post. I had tried looking on multiple forums, but I had no success.

I am doing a complete new audio upgrade, and just need to know the exact size of the front door speakers I should get along with the rear door. Also do I need to get new mounts to hold the speakers in place.

I am looking at these for the front-- P165-SE - Punch 6.5" 2-Way Euro Fit Compatible System External Xover | Rockford Fosgate®

and

I am looking at these for the rear--
P1675 - Punch 6.75" 3-Way Full-Range Speaker | Rockford Fosgate®

Can someone please just confirm that they will basically fit in the factory slots.

Welcome to the forums! No need to apologize...our forums are better than anyone else!

Here's a great website that can help you narrow down choices based on your stock audio system...keep in mind there is two different types of stock audio, JBL vs NON-JBL. JBL has some extra stuff installed in rear cargo area. You will be able to tell whether you have JBL or not by looking at your door panels and seeing if there is a short text saying JBL

I actually get distributor pricing, on pioneer, kicker, and rockford fosgate. I just want to make sure when I order I have all the correct parts. Let me check on cruthfield.com - I forgot about that website.

I went on Crutchfield, and when i put in the front door speakers it looks like both 5-1/4" - 6-1/2"

Not sure which one I should go with but I am looking at component sets from Rockford

They would both need an adapter then. It looks like there are 6x9" speakers in the door. Do you have a JBL system in it?

you can put 6 x 9, or better to make a good adapter for a 6.5 speaker cut out, and sound deaden the doors.

The Pioneer NEX's can do XM/Sirius with an adapter (sold separately).

I have the same P165-SE's going in mine! I haven't installed them yet, but they sounded great in my Subaru. Not a ton of bass though, so I would consider a sub necessary for sure. Just good clear highs and mids.
As others have suggested, Crutchfield will help a ton if you're not familiar with stereo stuff on the 4R. I ordered my mounting brackets from TacoTunes, they're great quality but a little pricey. You can find them here:

Not having the JBL system is awesome, it made trying to figure out my stereo much more complicated since I had to figure out the factory amp wiring with it.
