Comptred Retread Mudders

Just got a set of 4 new tires for my 'Runner. These are from a local tire shop but are made in PA. Mine are 245/75/16 and look great. Paid $480 out the door including the usual mount/balance and alignment.

From my understanding, the retread material is highway truck grade rubber and thus should last a long time even with the mudder tread. They are all E load rated casings and in good shape. Some pics:

Glad to see I'm not the only guy thinking (you actually did) of using retread tires. I'm looking at the Treadwright Guard Dog MT's.
 
Just wanted to update this thread... been driving/wheeling on these for a while now and they are doing great. Will definitely be going this route again... $75/tire!
