Condensation inside windshield

Number 16 is that gasket that mates the headliner to the sheet metal on the sunroof. Look like that part is basically like a garnish to finish off the area, and could double as a seal between the metal roof and headliner but, that's it's not the primary job of that.

Number 2 is the sliding cover shade of the sunroof when I changed out my headliner.
I don't remember if there's any kind of seal between the sunroof track and roof. The FSM doesn't even brings it up.
I can confirm it on my rig if you want me too.

I just had to drop my headliner cause I was replacing my sunroof assembly not too long ago so it would work again.

The only seal on these is the seal around the sliding glass, but even then these sunroofs are literally a controlled water leak. That is why there is channels on each side of the assembly and tubes at each corner for it to funnel out of the vehicle. The seal is not sold separately, but instead it comes as an entire unit with the glass and you are not going to want to go that route as it will cost you over $500...

Your only options really is to make sure that the seal around the glass on the outside does not have any tears, as that will let water leak into the rails of the sunroof and replicate what is happening to you. The ONLY part where water is supposed to enter is the tiny gap between the glass seal and roof. If that checks out, open the sunroof and make sure the holes at each corner is not obstructed at all. Just take a air gun and blow out all of the channels where water flows. Just note, that if it does rain super hard, it is possible for the channel to overflow briefly as the exit holes are relatively small compared to the drain tubes they are attached to.

Also, the copper tubes are what the drive rail cable is encased in, which is why my old sunroof didn't work. The cables were rusted inside of that copper tube, likely due to water constantly backing up like what is happening to you.

I did notice those little tiny holes in the corner. ( pic above circled in red ) which when my father was pouring water I though that’s where it’s leaking. But sounds like water is suppose to go on there. My seal around the glass seems in good condition. Yes, you shouldn’t have any water leaks between the seal and glass, only between the seal and roof as that water will channel itself into the gutters.

And yes, that part, the “drip channel” will indeed aid in channeling water from the rear of the assembly into the back gutter. It is a plastic piece that spans the entire length of the assembly in the rear, parallel to the glass. It is simply attached by tabs onto the drive rails. It is very possible that this could have became detached or broke on your rig. Just simply put your glass in the tilt position and snap a pic looking towards the back of the car to see if it still there.

I can't seem to find all my pics I took when I pulled my headliner.

But ya I remember studying the sunroof when I dropped my headliner and found the only real seal is the one that's attach to the sunroof glass. Any big leaks between there will overwhelm the drain design.

Looks like your on the right track to taking care of your leak.

9046709110E1 oak colored headliner clips.
Mines broke too when I dropped my headiner. Wonder whats the proesses of removing those without breaking them.

Maybe something is jammed up causing the water to back and fill up the gutter ? Then remove the window. Inspect the seal. And possibly apply silicone between seal and window. Then seal up the little plastic gap that older models have ?

That sounds like a good plan. Just know that obviously if you seal the glass, you will no longer be able to use it.
 
I wish I would have looked at this thread sooner. Like [MENTION=136902]thecole1098[/MENTION] said- the sunroof gasket is NOT supposed to keep water out 100%, only to mostly seal it.
My buddy just had a similar thing happen to his rig-
Do you happen to have a small split in the plastic trim- right in the center- at the front of the glass? He sealed that split up, and that fixed his leak, but his sunroof is still in working order [emoji1360]

This is exactly what mine had. Sealed it really good with clear RTV silicone and all is well so far.
 
Here is how my sunroof looks like from the outside. The seal around the window looks in pretty good condition. Doesn't even look dry rotted. I do have this small little split, guessing that is joint of the rubber gasket. ( I read that people should silicone this )

I was thinking about applying silicone around this edge ( marked in red ) or remove the gasket and apply silicone before putting it back around the window. Should still be able to use the sun roof.

Ive also noticed that after rain.... the passenger side floor is wet. "Under the carpet". And it actually feels wet behind that thick rubber padding. Seems to feel wet up to the AC drain tube.

But the driver side floor, under the carpet was slightly wet also.

All the wires going through the firewall grommet and nicely wrapped in electrical tape as one, and silicone for extra protection. Poured water on this area many times, did not see any leaks.

Could the floors be getting wet, because of the sunroof and or the AC drain is clogged? But I have noticed it in summer drip out?

I also just noticed this. When disconnected the driver side sunroof drain hose. I tried to blow air into it. And I couldn't. But, i see water drain of it. Could it be clogged somewhere? And causing the gutter to overflow? Basically not allowing water on driver to drain fast, and over flooding the sunroof gutter(s)?

I will try and run weed wacker wire through it. Suppose to rain for the next 3-4 days. Going to interesting!!!

Go ahead and seal that split in the plastic that you have and if you want seal around the perimeter like you were thinking as well. Good idea about the weed wacker wire down the tubes, hopefully all of that will clear up your issue.
 
It just rained. Looks like driver aide drain is clogged. Water is not draining. And if it is.... VERY VERY SLOWLY.

Hopefully it’s a easy fix and I won’t have to replace the actual drain tube. Has anyone done this before ? Incase I cannot unclog it ?

Also... my other issue. Is passenger side floor is getting some water. It rained, and there is a small puddle right next to the kick panel/ floor drain plug. Under the carpet. This one is hard to see. I don’t see a trail of water !!!
