Conflicted on what model I have

I have a 96 4runner with the 3.4L V6 5speed manual and 4x4. Some reviews I read say I have the SR5 and other say Limited. From what Ive seen from Toyota models is the only way to get this combination is to have the Limited, but back in 96 this might have been different

The manual transmission was only offered with the SR5 package from 96-00 and the highlander package from 99-00.

You have an SR5.

Same as Ruiner, the Limited Badges are on the side C Piller on mine.

As far as I know, there were never any 5-speed Limiteds. There definitely were none in 1999 when I bought my truck.(5-speed SR5).

post up a pic. if it has plastic on the bottom of the doors its a limited with a 5speed swap.

5speeds were never available on a 3rd gen limited.

I also have a 1996 Limited e-locked. I believe what [MENTION=68844]ljparton[/MENTION] said was correct.
