Confused about wheel offsets

I’m looking to get some new wheels in 17 x 9”, and they come in 2 offsets. One is +10mm, and the other is -13mm. Which should I choose, and why? I’m planning to use K02s possibly in 265/70, or similar. I’m hoping to bring the wheels out a bit more than the stock SR5 wheels, but I’m hoping not to have a ton of interference issues. I have around a 2” lift in front, if that matters.

The more negative offset, the more the wheel will stick out as the hub where it mounts where be further into the car. This also means less backspacing, which could possibly pose a problem with upper control arm clearance, but you should be fine.

Either or could work for you. None of them should rub because stock wheels are 17x7.5 +30mm.

I have 20x9 0mm (backspacing 5") on my runner and no issues and it is almost flush with my fenders

I have another set of wheels with 20x9 and -10mm. This sticks out more.

I personally would go for -13mm offset to get more of a aggressive look. And I would go for 275/70/17. But if you want to do some minor bumper trimming and mudflap removal in the front, go for 285/70/17 or 285/65/17.

Thanks for all the info. I was leaning toward the -13mm version because I was thinking it would stick out more, but I wasn’t positive. With regard to tires, I’d love to go 275/70s, but was worried about having a ton of clearance issues, where most with 265/70 seem to clear everything pretty well, that was my only reason for mentioning that size. Not stuck on that though. So, a 17 x 9” with a -13mm offset and 275/70 KO2s should clear? If so that would be a great look, I think.

I'm glad I can confirm it.

It should clear without any issue. I am 98% sure. (Why I am saying this because I have 265/50/20 on 0mm offset and I know I can still clear a 275/50/20 or 275/55/20 tire without rubbing on my gen 4.

Like I said, at the super worst case, where it will rub will be just the front mud flaps and fender liner on a full lock turn. But that's nothing a 10mm Rachet and heat gun can't solve. (Remove front mud flaps, and heat gun the front bumper liner and push it forward)

Awesome, that’s certainly not a bother. I was more concerned with upper control arm interference, or chopping body mounts, etc.
