Confused...SR5 Sport Edition? or just SR5??

I just bought a used 2004 SR5 sport edition, but I'm confused... It doesn't have a hood scoop, has standard rims, and has the SR5 badging on both sides, but in the Carfax report my VIN is listed as a SPORT edition.

I'm trying to figure out if it has the sport package or not... can anyone help me??

I think that the Sport Edition will have a different interior, a silver (rather than black) roof luggage rack, different wheels (more than five spokes), body-colored mirrors (instead of black) - along with some other differences.

On the '05, the trim level will be on the front doors....which I think is true for '04 as well.

Yeah, that's what is most confusing.... I'm pretty sure its just the SR5 also, but the stupid CARFAX report is saying it's a Sport edition??? I'm gonna have to call them...

I think the confusion comes from the VIN. If you look at the VIN, the SR5 and the Sport Edition have the same model identifier (7th digit = 4), whereas the Limited is different (7th digit = 7). If you use just the VIN to determine the model, which some used car dealers do, then it's unclear.

The Sport Edition does have unique badging and features. If it says "SR5" on the side, it's an SR5 and not a Sport Edition.

Sports usually have a hood scoop also.
