Last night, started up my 2001 SR5 with no problems. Took a short drive, parked for about five minutes, came back and it wouldn't turn over at all. Hooked up my booster pack thinking I was dealing with a dead battery since the truck has been parked for a long time and only used for a few short trips. Got it started and drove for about 30 minutes with no problems, hoping to charge up the battery. Then today I go out and it won't start at all. Battery seems fine, reads 12.2 volts and at 100% when hooked up to my trickle charger. I noticed that when I tried starting it while I had the driver's door open, the door open light on the dash went out and then slowly came back on. Also, the security system is acting strange. The led indicator light was blinking normally, but when I unlocked the doors it started blinking rapidly as if trying to disengage. The only way I was able to get it to stop was by hooking up the booster pack to supply some extra power.
Any ideas on this? I have read posts about bad starter contacts, but I don't know if that would explain everything I'm experiencing.
