Considering removing Leather Front Seats For SR5 Cloth

Are there any concerns with Airbags in removing the Leather Seats. Any Special Tricks to removing and unplugging the Seats. Leather just Sucks in Az Heat. Already have SR5 Cloth in 2nd Row. Have Wet Okole Covers on Front Seats but considering a Change.:usa:

So was I (swapping cloth for leather) until I spent the last 2 weeks driving a car with leather. Now I'm sweating my ass off and stoked I'll be going back to cloth. Don't think I'll have leather again that's not ventilated.

poke a few holes here and there and you will have ventilation. :D
 
I'm strongly considering cloth in my limited also. I need two seat bottoms for both front seats. $400 no matter how I look at it for OEM quality Replacement. For just the bottoms. $800 for bottoms and seat back. My back seats area perfect. I just can't find any cloth covers that are OEM quality for much cheaper yet.

If any of yall swap out gray leather I'd be interested in buying it from you assuming the drivers seat is in good shape.

Edit: Heck, I think I'd consider black too.
 
Leave your battery unplugged for 2 minutes or so before unplugging your seats. If your new seats don’t have airbags, you’re entire airbag system won’t work.

Also the wet okoles are definitely not helping

If anyone in Northern California wants to trade black cloth seats for my all weather trail edition seats PM me. I've never been a fan of leather.
 
I tried this. Replaced 06 limited leather with 06 sport cloth. Both seats functioned however caused many electrical issues I'm still trying to sort out. I gave a nice set of 06 sport cloth seats for sale now. Ha. Put the leather back in and still have problems

I have Wet Okole on them. I am picking up the Seats this week. Cloth are more comfortable too. Still get Hot as Hell in Az heat even with the Covers on them.
 
Just pull the battery, hit the brake a few times to get all the electricity out, and then go to town removing the seat. That's what I did, since I was looking at how easy/difficult it would be to swap covers..

That said, I've been thinking about pulling the OEM covers off, and just put a generic wally-world seat cover... It's cheap, and it'll do the same thing to some extent...

I had No Idea a Swap would kill all the Airbags. Wow have to Reconsider this Swap then as the seats I am looking at Do Not have Airbags. Damn that Sucks Big Time...:cry:

I'll trade my gray cloths for some leather gray or black... No tears in my seats and I'll meet you anywhere near northeast tn
 
I'm planning to run Katzkin front and rear. Guy on TW does custom ones and I'm going to mimic what I had in my Jeep GC Trailhawk. Black leather bolsters with perforated alcantara centers with red stitching. My cloth is ripping on one of the bottom cushions. And for $1100 for front and back, that is a deal. The perforated alcantara keeps them cool to the touch and keeps you from sweating
 
Any Possibility of a Jumper Harness to Rectify the Issue of Seats Not having Airbags and Disabling the whole Airbag system?
