Considering selling and moving to a sedan (Subaru WRX Limited) thoughts????

I should add that if you are going to buy a WRX I recommend getting a membership with IMBA and waiting 6 months. After 6 months of being a member with them you are eligible for the Subaru VIP program which is 2% below invoice. Its a no haggling thing too. 6 months of waiting could save you 2-3k.

Check out the Forester XT if you think you may need some semblance of a SUV. We've got one and I prefer driving more often than the 4R most days unless we plan to offroad. It's plenty fast and I easily get 30+ MPG out of it.

I did the opposite. I went from a WRX limited to a Trail 4Runner. I never had any issues with the WRX. I actually owned 2 of them in the past and never had a problem from either. I had fun with them but I knew I had to get back into a SUV/truck at some point, so I did. I plan on keeping the 4Runner for several years. Pushing the accelerator to the floor is quite a thrill in the WRX.

Thanks for all the input from everyone. I'm not making any changes yet. Still doing some research and sitting on it for a bit to see if I still feel the same thoughts in a week or so. May even throw a for sale sign on the 4Runner as is and see what happens. I agree with what several members have said about getting rid of the Rav4 and moving the 4Runner over to the wife. That would be the ideal situation. Just need to discuss it with her more and review our budget a bit. Since April we've bought a house and got married so our summer expenses have been a little inflated.

Thanks again for the input. And I'm still open to other suggestions for replacements. The Focus RS looks like it could be a contender. I just don't know if I can give any money to VW/Audi after the whole dieselgate ordeal.

Just to give you some perspective I moved from a brand new 2015 WRX STI into my 4runner.

Reasons: I always wanted more capabilities out of the STI, I did more and more off road activities and quite frankly while it has a "rally pedigree" its not suited for anything more than gravel...and I wanted more. I figured I could do everything the STI did for me in the 4runner and MORE And BETTER with exception of raw street speed. I drive my vehicles hard and I had the subaru in the shop every month. My 4runner has taken a beating and continues to provide smiles for miles.

Have you thought about the Lexus IS? Comes in a turbo or you can get the V6. My gf has one and it's really nice, has plenty of power, and gets good gas mileage

I also came from a Subaru, except mine was a 2013 STi hatchback. As fun as those are, I was always a bit nervous wondering if something would fail every time I decided to punch it. Those models were definitely built for speed and nothing else as the interior rattled and invited road noise. The only fix aside from completely lining every panel was to get a louder exhaust to drown out everything because the sound system certainly wouldn't do it. Putting it another way, for me, my 4Runner is the most luxurious vehicle I've ever owned and the sound system is 10x better.

I put the sprint booster on my 4runner. Set at "green 3" it helps a bit with the lack of responsiveness. Now I just need to get used to the high revs. My point is that it will keep me from buying something else and waisting thousands of dollars for a little while longer. Might be worth the try for you first. I think you could get most of your money back by resale here if you don't like it.

My vehicle history includes an 04 WRX, 06 STI, and 12 WRX. You'll get tired of anything, so either drive what you've got or get something else.

This is my first post. I just purchased a 17 TRD off road, traded in my 2016 WRX limited. The reason I moved over from the Subie to the T4R is that needed more room now that I have another child only 6 months old and my first is 2 years old. On top of that I drive mainly city and got tired of driving standard in traffic. Also I could barely make it up my driveway. Which sucks that I couldn't get coilovers and wheels because of that to complete the look. Lol

I have only skimmed through some of the pages but if no one has said it yet one thing to also think about is that you'll be paying more for car insurance. Also the paint on the subies are soft and you get chips pretty easy. Are you planning on modding? If you do just be careful because you will probably want an sti if you really get into it. Lol

If you are planning on modding just go straight for the STi.
