Console Vault *Group Buy* Summer 2015

Just in case any 4th Genners were wondering about the outlet or USB port inside the console, the CV is the same for 2003-2009 so the cutout is in the same place.

Had a question for the 4th gen guys, how are you running an AUX cord through the vault? Mine has a cut out on the interior to plug a cord into the port but I'm not seeing a way to have the cord be accessible with the hatch closed/locked.

Does the hatch have to be in an open position for the cord to be accessible?

Maybe I'm missing something really obvious.

My console vault has a pretty big gap toward the front of the vault. Is this normal?

Yes. Thats the area where the auxiliary plug is.

You're not missing anything. I would say it was a design flaw but then if there was a cut out it would make things a lot easier for someone to pry it open with that opening. The only thing I see possible for us to use the aux port is to drill a hole through the arm rest area in that sits right below the padded part. Run the cord through there. Not ideal by any means but seems like the only way around it. I'm keeping my Runner forever as its paid off and will become just my weekend toy when I get another so I'm ok with it. Otherwise if you like upgrading then I'd think twice unless you sold the CV with the truck.

Ditto. Got mine today also and install was a breeze. No need for a pic since it'll look the same as above.

Just to make sure, the bottom of the safe doesn't touch the bottom by the bolts correct.

Just installed mine today. It doesn't touch the bottom near the bolts either. It does touch the lip where the cig lighter plug is located.

I received mine a few weeks before promised. Solid build and easy installation (once you get the OEM bolts out without finger nails). Well packaged for shipping. I feel better about leaving certain items in the car knowing it will be a pain in the butt to get it out.
