Console vault questions

I am having trouble getting info on the Condole vault safe for the 4th gen T4R. I have sent a few emails to console vault directly with no response, yeah not a good sign. I have read some reviews on amazon regarding the Tacoma version. A big complaint is the lid opening is not big enough to fit a full size handgun through. I was wondering who here has one and do you like it? Can I fit a full size handgun in it? Can you leave the lid unlocked so you can get in and out freely then lock when needed? Any opinions or info would be great. Thanks guys.

Console Vault is great company to deal with but don't bother calling them. You'll get a fast response that way. Just keep sending emails and maybe they'll respond.

A full sized gun fits fine in there. Maybe a competition sized gun with a 6" plus barrel won't but anything 5" and under is no problem. You can leave them unlocked for fast access. I have the 4 digit combo and I leave it unlocked while I'm in the car. I don't know about the key lock if you have to lock it to pull key out though. In the 4th Gen CV the opening is not huge but its big enough to easily get in and out of.

Thanks you answered my main questios! I need to be able to fit my duty weapon in it (Sig 226). I will measure it but it sounds like it will fit. I was looking at the 4 digit combo lock as I really don't want another key on my key chain. Do you still have access to the 120 volt plug in?

Access is still there for the 120 volt. The CV has a large cut out in it. Now just so you know, the CV does not have a cut out to run any type of cable/wire from the inside while the lid is closed. The only way to do this is to drill a hole where the cut out is on the CV through the lower part of the arm rest / center console.

Agreed. Full size "duty guns" will fit fine and the combo lock is the way to go. Stay Safe!

I have the console vault and I love it! I can get my Springfield 1911 in there but it takes just a little maneuvering to do so. I fit my 9mm Shield in there no problem. Great product and would highly recommend it if you are looking for a more secure way of storing "something" in your truck.

Thanks guys I will definitely be looking into this. Its very unnerving knowing that all someone has to do is smash a window. I wish Tuffy would make there security glove boxes for more vehicles. I had one in my Jeep, it was stout.
