Constant 12v Power (to my rear outlet)

I use my rig for camping etc a lot and would love to have constant 12v power to my rear outlet for cooler and such devices.

Found a mod for 4th Gen - can anyone point me to the same mod for 3rd Gen?

Remove the power outlet relay and jump the two closet terminals to the fender.

Going to be doing this mod soon too. I noticed the TrippLite inverter in the write up. What are your impressions of it after a bit of use? Anyone have any other options that work well? I have some Walmart gift cards and saw a 375W TrippLite inverter online for ~$50, so I'm thinking it might an option to consider. Thoughts?

Tripplite has been working great and never had a problem with it in many years. Got the 300W for a great deal, but would otherwise recommend getting a little more power and hardwiring it if you are going to put it in service for heavy duty usage.

i'm a fan of xantrex, i have a 12 year old 400 watt one that has been in every vehicle I've owned since i was 18, i've spilled soda inside it, dirt,snow,sand, you name it this thing has handled it, i have never treated it kindly, there have been very few things in my life that has taken this sort of abuse and still keeps on working. i have used nothing but xantrex since, i currently have 4 of them now 2 in my vw camper van and 1 in each of my trucks and couldn't be happier.

that said, make your own choice and see what suits your needs, i have just had incredibly good luck with this company.

Anyone familiar with this? Does it power all the 12v outlets or just the one in the back?

ETA - also it seems like it would be better to just jump the NO terminals that get closed with the ignition hot, right?

It's the same exact effect, but I think this was is a tiny bit more secure.

I bought a spare relay and modified it. That way I can swap that relay in for camping trips and the like, but keep the stock relay in the rest of the time.

I haven't tested the back, but it works for the front ones, so I assume it's good for all of them.
