Constant Power mod w/auto-dimming rearview mirror

I've read through the http://www.toyota-4runner.org/engin...ssories/11038-constant-12v-power-outlets.html post and am interested in doing this mod to my 2006. My question is in regards to my auto-dimming mirror ... some folks in the thread mentioned that their mirror (and the compass display) was effected, while others said it wasn't. I'm wondering if it's a year issue, a factory installed vs. dealer installed issues, etc. but can't seem to find any discussion about this. Have any '06 owners with the auto-dimming mirror done this mod and, if so, is your mirror powered full-time now?

I believe its very simple. Some folks are just tapping into a constant instead of a switched power source. It shouldn't be a factory issue, it (mirror) isn't connected to any computer on the truck. I have a Gentex autodimming mirror with back-up monitor waiting to be installed (just have to get my lazy ass to do it). I don't expect any hiccups, the hook up is straight forward.

Thanks, but I'm not referring to folks having an issue installing an auto-dimming mirror ... I'm asking about people that already have an auto-dimming mirror installed and then doing the constant power mod (jumping the relay switch). In the original thread, some of them reported that their mirrors stayed "on" after doing the mod ... but it didn't happen for others. I'm just trying to figure out the reason for this inconsistency and whether or not it would be an issue with my '06.

For the record, I have a 2005 Limited V8 and performed the combined full-time 12V and 115V mod a year ago according to this writeup:

Toyota 4Runner Constant Full Time 115V Power Outlet Mod

The compass integrated in the rear-view mirror of my vehicle does not stay on full-time.
